Icelandic lamb is very popular in foreign markets because of excellent taste and the clean Icelandic nature. For export of lamb SS has registered the brandname ICELAMB in leading European markets. Fresh meat is processed and packaged during slaughter season in August - December. The meat is transported by air or by sea in refrigerated containers.
We also export salted lamb skins and salted hides. Icelandic lamb skins are known for their lightness and have been popular for fashion clothes and nappa production.
